NIST published AI RMF 1.0 in January 2023. It is voluntary and usable by any organisation, including banks and fintechs.

2Discussion

Its core has four functions: Govern, Map, Measure and Manage. In July 2024 NIST added a Generative AI Profile.

3Conclusion

For financial firms, it provides a shared language between technical, risk and supervisory teams and structures review of validity, security, transparency and fairness.
